FAQs
Electrodes are strategically placed within a training suit over all major muscle groups to deliver safe electrical impulses during various strength and cardio exercises.
With traditional workouts, the brain sends impulses that stimulate muscles to contract. The EMS machine mimics these with low-level electric impulses also causing the muscles to contract.
Electronic Muscle Stimulation (EMS) has been used by physiotherapists for decades and now through whole body training for over 10 years.
How does EMS work?
1
Why are the sessions only 20 minutes?
2
The EMS whole body training is only 20 minutes because it targets all 12 major muscle groups simultaneously, creating a more intense and efficient workout. This heightened intensity increases energy expenditure and effectiveness, allowing you to achieve results more quickly. Longer sessions can cause muscle fatigue, making 20 minutes the ideal duration. A 20-minute EMS workout is equivalent to a 2-hour traditional workout.
What does EMS feel like?
3
EMS impulses feel similar to the pressure you would experience during a massage combined with a light vibration. The sensation of electrical stimulation is unusual but something you will get used to very quickly.
Yes! A remarkable number of studies have confirmed the effectiveness and harmlessness of EMS training. Electrostimulation originated in rehabilitation therapy and has been used by not only doctors and physiotherapists but also for competitive sports.
Your personal trainer will ensure you have none of the contradictions prior to your first session. As long as you have none of the contradictions, it is perfectly safe as our muscles normally contract through electric impulses generated by our central nervous system. Like any form of extreme training, remember to stay well hydrated before, during, and after training.

Is EMS safe?
How many sessions should I do per week?
5
With EMS training you can do one-to-two sessions per week. If you want faster results, we recommend two sessions! Just ensure you give yourself at least 48 hours between sessions.
How long before I see results?
6
Measurable results are typically seen by the sixth session, but many clients feel and see the results within the first three sessions, depending on your lifestyle.
Why is EMS so effective?
7
During an EMS session over 90% of your muscles are engaged. The electrical impulses penetrate deep into muscle fibers that are often challenging to reach through traditional exercises. A 20-minute EMS session can provide benefits equivalent to 2 hours of regular physical training!
Who is the ideal candidate for EMS?
8
EMS is for anyone over 18 who is looking to quickly reach their health and fitness goals!
The training is especially impactful for:
Individuals with busy schedules who want to save time and achieve rapid results
Golfers who want to increase club head speed, improve shot accuracy and distance, and develop core stability
Moms during postnatal recovery who want to strengthen their pelvic floor
Athletes who need to strengthen specific muscles used in their sports; and
Individuals with regular back pain or joint issues
Can I combine EMS with traditional workouts?
9
Absolutely! Just be sure to listen to your body. The typical recover timeline after an EMS session is 24 to 48 hours. Ideal additions to EMS training include activities such as yoga, Pilates, or any type of cardio training.
Can I do EMS after pregnancy?
10
Yes! The electrical impulses penetrate deep into the muscle fibers, making EMS is the ideal workout to help rebuild your core strength and pelvic floor postnatal. Just be sure to seek your doctor's approval before your first EMS session.
What do I need to bring to my EMS session?
11
The client is not required to bring or wear anything for EMS sessions. EMS BodySculpt will provide all undergarments, vests, and other workout equipment needed for the session. Tennis shoes are recommended but not required.
